Owen Sound Attack & Max Fransen Announce ‘Franny’s Friends’ Program
Owen Sound, ON – The Owen Sound Attack along with defenceman Max Fransen are excited to announce a new community engagement program; ‘Franny’s Friends’. This new program will provide opportunities for local minor hockey teams to directly engage with Max and the Attack, and bring more kids to Attack home games all season long.
Franny’s Friends will run throughout the Attack’s regular season and minor hockey calendar, with an open application for minor hockey teams in Grey Bruce to invite Max out for a practice session with their team followed by an invitation for all players to attend an Attack home game.
“When I had the chance to give back to Owen Sound Minor Hockey, it was something I knew I wanted to do. Hockey has played such a big role in my life, and I remember being a young kid wanting to go watch hockey and meet older players. I wanted to find a way to give the next generation of players an experience they can enjoy and remember. I’m grateful to the Owen Sound Attack for helping make this possible, and I’m excited to visit local teams at their practices and see them back at the Bayshore for a game. Being able to give back to the hockey community means a lot to me.” Max Fransen, Defenceman for the Owen Sound Attack.
“When Max Fransen approached us with his idea to give back to Owen Sound Minor Hockey, we were not surprised as he consistently demonstrates leadership and maturity that are rare for first year players. Max made it clear that he feels strongly about supporting young hockey players and wants to be a leader in the Owen Sound community. We know that Max will be a great ambassador for our organization, and hope that our local teams enjoy having him at practice before coming to a game at the Bayshore.” Tyler Nother, Attack President and General Manager.
The first Franny’s Friends practice was held this past Wednesday with the U9 Jr. Attack, with all players invited back for the Attack’s weekend matchup Sunday against the Brantford Bulldogs.
Interested minor hockey teams can have a representative coach or manager fill out the application form below or on the Franny’s Friends page of the Attack website. A member of the Attack staff will reach out to selected applicants to coordinate scheduling.
