OWEN SOUND, ON –  The Attack were unable to stop the Storm, falling to Guelph in a 3-2 game. The Storm had goals from Illia Shybinskyi, Carter Kucher, and Owen Griffin. While the Attack saw Ethan Kindree score his first of the season and Captain Pierce Mbuyi scoring his fifth.

The first period saw a lone goal from the Guelph Storm when Shybinskyi notched his first goal of the season, when the Attack were on the penalty kill. Ryerson Leenders faced 11 shots on goal while the Storm’s goalie, Zach Jovanovski, faced 12 in the single period.

Things started to ramp up in the second with a total of four goals, split evenly between both teams, scored. Guelph took the first two when Kucher notched his first goal in the Ontario Hockey League, followed by Griffin less than three minutes later making it 3-0 in favour of the Storm. The Attack responded promptly when Ethan Kindree scored his first goal of the season on a rebound off of a shot on goal from Captain Pierce Mbuyi. Less than a minute later (54 seconds to be exact) Mbuyi scores his own goal making it 3-2 to end the second period.

Despite the Attack’s attempts to tie it up the final frame of the game went scoreless as the Storm won in front of their home crowd. The Storm’s Jovanovski made a total of 31 saves on 33 shots on goal, while the Attack’s Leenders made 27 saves on 30 shots on net.
