Tim Cox and the staff at Bumper to Bumper and the Owen Sound Attack are proud to partner in an effort to honour those who serve our country.
The Bumper to Bumper Hero of the Game is awarded to a member of our Armed Forces, Emergency Services, and other community heroes past or present at each weeknight home game. They are presented with an autographed stick in front of over 3000 fans at the Harry Lumley Bayshore Community Centre. During the 2022-23 season we will feature 10 Heroes of the game at each Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday home game.

Wednesday, December 17, 2025 vs. London Knights – Captain Mike Butler
The Bumper to Bumper and the Owen Sound Attack have teamed up to honour members of our community who are heroes, whether it be a member of the armed forces, emergency services team or a volunteer in the community.
Tonight’s Hero of the game, presented by Bumper to Bumper is CAPTAIN MIKE BUTLER from the 4th Canadian Division Training Centre in Meaford. CAPTAIN BUTLER is currently posted at the 4th Canadian Division Training Centre, CFB Meaford, as the Signals Officer (G6), where he and his team are responsible for all Communications and Information Systems.
He joined the Canadian Armed Forces as a non-commissioned member in 2006, rising to the rank of Sergeant before commissioning as an Officer. Throughout his career, he has deployed operationally overseas on Op ATHENA, Kandahar, Afghanistan (2009); Op CROCODILE, Democratic Republic of Congo (2015); and Op SOPRANO, South Sudan (2015). Domestically, he deployed on Op LENTUS, Calgary Floods (2013).
Captain Butler is the recipient of the General Campaign Star – South-West Asia, the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal, and the Canadian Forces Decoration. His career has taken him across Canada and abroad, with postings in Edmonton, Kingston, Petawawa, Canberra (Australia), and now Meaford. He is a husband to Tyana and a Father to Everett and Ayda.
Born and raised in Strathroy, Ontario, he grew up a London Knights fan, but since relocating to Owen Sound has become a proud supporter of the Owen Sound Attack!
