Preview: Attack Head to Forest City for 4th Meeting Against Knights
The Owen Sound Attack head to the Forest City for a mid-week clash with the CHL top ranked London Knights tonight. This will be the fourth meeting of the year between the two teams with the Knights having taken the three previous meetings, all one goal games, two in overtime (5-4 on October 9 and 2-1 on November 3) and one in a shootout (4-3 on November 22).
The Attack head into the midweek game in ninth place in the Western Conference standings with a 7-14-2-3 record on the year, just two points back of the Sarnia Sting for 8th and 3-6-0-1 in their last 10. The Bears will look to stay out of the penalty box, but if they do land shorthanded they will need to have continued success with the their 7th best penalty kill that has only allowed 18 goals against this season. On offence the Attack continue to be led by the tandem of Landen Hookey (9-17-28) and Sam McCue (16-9-25), while Tristan Delisle (6-9-15) has started to emerge as another threat for the team, having registered 3 goals and 2 assists in his last four games. Goaltending will continue to be a key factor on Wednesday night with Carter George or Matthew Koprowski being asked to provide solid play between the pipes.
The Knights head into the game with a Western Conference best 22-4-0-0 record, four points up on the Windsor Spitfires and winners of their past 18 games. On special teams, the green and while boost the leagues top ranked power play at 31.8-percent and the leagues fourth ranked penalty kill at 82.9-percent. Offensively the Knights are led by Sam Dickinson (15-30-45), Denver Barkey (4-24-28), William Nichol (10-16-26) and Easton Cowan (14-11-25). The Attack will need to find a solution for the Knights goaltending tandem of Austin Elliott and Aleksei Medvedev.
