Oil Kings Welcome Vees for First-Ever Visit to Rogers Place
Edmonton, Alta. – The Edmonton Oil Kings continue a season-long seven-game homestand tonight at Rogers Place as they welcome the Penticton Vees.
The Vees are making their first-ever trip to Rogers Place after entering the Western Hockey League ahead of the 2025/2026 season. Last year, the Oil Kings visited Penticton for the first time, coming away with a 4-3 overtime win over the Vees. Parker Snell made 28 saves for the win in that game.
Snell is coming off another massive game for the Oil Kings on Friday as he made 34 saves for his fourth win of the season as the Oil Kings got by the Saskatoon Blades 3-2. Kanjyu Gojsic scored with just over two minutes to play to put Edmonton ahead for good in the contest and the Oil Kings are now 6-3-1-0 on the season, winners of three straight games.
It was also the second consecutive one-goal game the Oil Kings have been a part of, and the fourth through 10 games this year. They’re 3-0-1-0 in one-goal games to this point.
The Oil Kings are sitting fifth in the air-tight Eastern Conference heading into Sunday.
On the other side, the Vees are currently in the midst of a three-game road trip through the Central Division and are currently 1-1-0-0 on the swing. The Vees defeated Red Deer on Friday following a Wednesday loss to Calgary. Overall this season, the Vees are 5-8-0-1 and are eighth in the WHL’s Western Conference.
Puck drop from Rogers Place is 4 p.m.
