The Oil Kings are proud to have participated in United Way’s Coats for Kids & Families campaign this winter. Oil Kings fans were encouraged to bring their gently used coats and winter gear to Oil Kings home games in the month of December (9th, 15th, and 17th), and donate them to this great cause! In return, each donor will received a voucher for 2 tickets to the Oil Kings “An Elvis Afternoon” on January 14th! With the help of our amazing Oil Kings fans, we were able to raise OVER 300 warm, winter items for United Way!
United Way of the Alberta Capital Region started the Coats for Kids & Families initiative in 1992 in response to an overwhelming need for winter wear by people in our community. Many local individuals and families simply don’t have the means to purchase the clothing needed to stay warm during Alberta’s harsh winters.
