Priority Selection Goes Saturday
Among all of the hustling and bustling of playoffs, the OHL Priority Selection will take place this Saturday, April 6th and the Attack wishes to invite their fans to take part in the day. The Attack will have the Shore Room at the Bayshore set up for fans to follow the draft and ask questions to Attack General Manager Dale DeGray after Rounds One, Three, Six and Ten. The Attack will provide coffee and some breakfast items, along with a light lunch. Doors will open at 8:30am for fans. The 2013 OHL Priority Selection begins at 9:00 AM with the first three rounds webcast live at www.ontariohockeyleague.com and presented by State Farm.
The Attack finished 3rd overall in the OHL, meaning they would normally draft in the 18th spot, however; due to Windsor having to forfeit their 1st Round Pick, the Attack will draft in the 17th spot. The Attack has fifteen picks in the priority selection, which will finally see the wrap up to the numerous deals with Niagara in 2010. The Attack has Niagara’s 3rd and 4th Round picks this year.
The last time the Attack picked this low in the draft, they grabbed Zach Nastasiuk with their 1st Round Pick and Chris Bigras with their 2nd Round pick, so Dale DeGray and company will be looking to pull another rabbit out of the hat like they did in 2011. The 2010 draft was successful as well as it produced seven OHL players, five of which are currently on the Attack roster. Jarrod Maidens, Daniel Milne, Holden Cook, Gemel Smith and Kurtis MacDermid are all members of the Attack, while Jake Dotchin and Devon Rymarchuk were dealt to the Barrie Colts earlier this season.
