Knights Complete Weekend Sweep
Knights Complete Weekend Sweep ! Barely. The #1 ranked hockey club in the nation, defeated our Attack 7-5 Saturday night scoring into an empty net and won in overtime at home Sunday. Yes they won both games, but know they were in a battle.
London rookie Max Domi opened the scoring with his 9th of the season at 15:17 of the first period. Domi’s hit on Attack rookie Artur Gavrus in Owen Sound Saturday night, left Artur at home nursing an upper body injury after being taken from the ice on a stretcher.
This was another battle between goaltenders Scott Stajcer and Michael Houser. Scotty was brilliant. 1-0 London after one period of play.
Daniel Catenacci tied the affair at 13:39 of the second. His power play goal was his 13th goal of the season from Joseph Blandisi and Mike Halmo. The Cat was given a roughing minor on the same stoppage.
The Knights used that penalty to get the go ahead goal. His 1st of the season for London defenceman Scott Harrington at 14:03.
2-1 London after two periods of play. The Attack lost Devon Rymarchuk and Cameron Brace to injury in the second.
The Cat was back with his 2nd of the game and 14th of the season at 11:50 of the third period. Daniel finished a nice pass/shot by rookie defenceman Jake Dotchin. 2-2 at the end of regulation time.
In OT, the Knights were awarded their 12th PP opportunity. Seth Griffith won the game for London at 1:15.
Final score London 3 – Owen Sound 2 OT. Shots on goal were 49 -38 London. Our Attack were 2 for 6 on PP. The Knights 2 for 12.

Next game for our Attack is Friday, November 25th when they will make their only regular season visit to Sudbury. Game time is 7:30 p.m. Saturday, the 26th, they will be guests of the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds. Game time is 7:05 p.m. Both games can be heard on BearRadio AM560.
Next home game is Wednesday, November 30th when the Barrie Colts will be our guests. Game time at the J.D. McArthur Arena is 7:00 p.m.
