Bigras Named Attacker of the Week
The Owen Sound Attack is pleased to announce that defenseman Chris Bigras has been named the teams Becker Shoes Attacker of the Week for the week ending Sunday, February 19th.
Bigras and his Attack teammates spent the weekend on the road, making stops in Plymouth and Windsor before wrapping things up on Sunday afternoon in Saginaw. The rookie defenseman started the week off on a good note picking up 2 assists in a 5-1 Attack win over the Plymouth Whalers.
The Elmvale native continued his fine play into Saturday night, notching his 2nd goal of the season and picking up an assist in a 5-4 Attack win in overtime at the WFCU Centre. Sunday, the rookie rearguard put together another fine performance, picking up his 3rd goal of the season to go along with an assist, however; the Attack’s 6 game winning streak came to an end, dropping the game 4-2 to Saginaw.
Bigras tallied two goals and four assists to go along with a +6 rating in three weekend games and has quietly put together a six game point streak.
The Attack is back at home this Wednesday for a pivotal Western Conference match-up against Nail Yakupov and the Sarnia Sting. The Attack currently trail the sting by one point for 4th spot in the Western Conference. Wednesday’s game is presented by Huron Tractor and action gets underway at 7:00pm.
