Attack select Struthers and Daniels
The Owen Sound Attack is pleased to announce that with their first selection in the 3rd Round, they have chosen forward Matthew Struthers of the Halton Hurricanes Minor Midgets and with their second selection immediately following, selected goaltender Riley Daniels of the Niagara North Stars.
In 36 games with the Hurricanes, the 6’1 Struthers tallied 20 goals and 20 assists to go along with 38 penalty minutes. Struthers also served as the Captain for the Hurricanes last season.
“Matthew is a big kid who skates well and has a lot of skill.”, said Dale DeGray. “We feel that he has the potential to be an impactful forward in our league.”
With their 2nd selection in the 3rd round, the Attack went between the pipes and selected goaltender Riley Daniels. The 6’0, 178lb stopper had a 2.06 GAA in 34 games for the North Stars in 2014/2015.
“Riley has a lot of potential and we feel a lot of room to grow as a goaltender. He has a real solid year and we’re looking forward to having him in our organization”, said DeGray.
The Attack will now select: 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, 9th, 10th, 11th, 13th, 14th.
