Attack Look to Game Four
The Owen Sound Attack will be looking to take a three games to one lead in the Western Conference Quarter Finals Thursday evening in London. The Midwest division champions took a two games to one series lead on Tuesday evening at the Bayshore, defeating the London Knights 5-3 in front of a boisterous crowd of over 3100.
The hometown boys trailed 2-1 after the first and 3-1 shortly into the second but rallied back with three unanswered goals on Knights goaltender Michael Houser before Liam Heelis potted his first of the series into an empty net. The win was not without controversy, however; as there was 91 minutes in penalties called, including 25 power plays for each team. The biggest call in the game came with just over five minutes left when London’s Colin Martin was assessed a match penalty for slew footing on the Attack’s Joey Hishon, which caused the forward to leave the game with an upper body injury. Hishon’s injury will cause him to be a game-time decision for tomorrow evening’s contest.
“We got a little bit away from the game plan in the first period.”, stated Attack Captain Garrett Wilson. “In the second and third, we tried to play our game and had success, so we’re just going to try and carry that over into game four.” Wilson, the Attack’s leader had an assist in the win. The Attack dropped a 5-1 decision in London last Saturday and will be trying to gain their first road victory Thursday. Thursday’s action can be heard live on Grey Motors Bear Radio with Fred Wallace on 560 CFOS or seen live on Rogers TV local channel 53. Fans wishing to inquire about a “Fan Bus” travelling to London are encouraged to contact Helen Lewis.
Game five of the series will go Saturday evening at 7:30pm at the Harry Lumley Bayshore Community Centre in Owen Sound. Season Ticket Holders are reminded that they have until 1:00pm on Friday to claim their tickets for Saturday evening’s game at the Attack Box Office. The Box Office is open daily from 8:30am to 5:00pm.
