Attack Fall to Kitchener
The Kitchener Rangers made their second visit of the season to the Bayshore on Saturday night and were missing plenty in their lineup as Ryan Murphy, Tobias Rieder, Radek Faksa and John Gibson were missing, as well as Head Coach Steve Spott and Assistant Coach Troy Smith.
The Attack were without Jordan Binnington, Jacob Middleton and Jaden Lindo, however; Greg Ireland was back after serving his five game suspension.
Early in the first, the Rangers were awarded a powerplay and they made it count when Nick Czinder potted his 2nd of the season on a goal mouth scramble.
One-zip would be the way the first period would end with the Attack out shooting the Rangers 8-6.
The Attack would once again control the majority of play in the second period, but the bounces would not go their way and Kitchener would capitalize as they went up 3-0 on goals by Josh Sterk and Ben Fanelli.
The Attack would try to rally in the third and would come close when Cameron Brace fired home his 24th of the season, but the Attack would be unable to capitalize on several late powerplays and would fall by a final score of 3-1.
The Centennial Windows Three Stars of the Game were:
1) Franky Palazzese 35sv
2) Nick Czinder 1G,2A
3) Cameron Brace 1G
The Attack is back in action this weekend when they travel to Plymouth and Saginaw on Friday and Saturday. You can catch both games live on 560 CFOS with Fred Wallace on Kia of Owen Sound/Terry’s Trailer Service Bear Radio.
