Attack Down Bulls 2-1
The Owen Sound Attack snapped a six game losing streak in fine fashion on Saturday night, defeating the Belleville Bulls 2-1 in front of yet another packed Bayshore crowd. Both teams were in action the previous night with the Bulls coming to town after a 6-3 victory over the Kitchener Rangers and the Attack dropping a controversial contest in overtime to the Windsor Spitfires.
The Attack and Bulls would trade powerplay opportunities in the first with each team having two cracks with the man advantage, however; both teams would fail to bulge the twine and enter the first intermission knotted at zero.
The Attack would finally open the scoring when Michael Halmo’s 33rd goal of the season was chipped over the sprawling Charlie Graham. Daniel Catenacci and Artur Gavrus would draw the assists, giving all three players points in both games this weekend.
Both teams continued to trade chances and powerplay opportunities throughout the second stanza but with little under two minutes left, the Attack would capitalize while shorthanded when a streaking Daniel Catenacci netted his 25th goal of the season on a feed from Halmo.
The third period would prove to be as entertaining as the first two. Both teams traded chances in end to end hockey with Belleville finally finding the scoreboard courtesy of a Daniil Zharkov powerplay marker. Despite their best efforts, Belleville could not solve Jordan Binnington the rest of the way and the Attack would skate away with a 2-1 win and three out of four weekend points.

The Kelsey’s Player of the Game as Voted in Fan Program Balloting was Daniel Catenacci.
