Attack Clinch Victory over Wolves in a 6-4 Win
The Attack continued their weekend Sunday afternoon facing off against the Sudbury Wolves at the Bayshore. The Wolves would prove to be a worthy opponent as they would play an extremely physical game. This however would not strain the Attack as they would pull a 6-4 victory over the Wolves. Leading the Attack was Captain Colby Barlow with a hat-trick goal score. Following suit in scoring would be Servac Petrovsky making two goals of his own, Cedrick Guindon would solidify the Attack’s efforts in a goal of his own in the third period. In net for the Attack was Carter George making 29 saves of 33 shots.
Within 16 seconds into the first period the Attack would jump to the opportunity as Barlow sunk a early goal into the corner of the Wolves’ net opening the scoring of the game 1-0 Attack. Facing off int he Bears’ territory the Attack would find themselves in a breakaway from play as Petrovsky would send the puck straight into Sudbury’s net earning the Attack their second goal in the period. The Wolves’ would answer with a goal of their own, but the Attack would press further as Sam Sedley would pass to Deni Goure from the blue point. Finding Barlow for the second time, the puck was quickly found in the net of the Wolves as the Attack upped the score to 3-2. Wolves would answer again ending the first period with a tied score at 3-2.
The second period would prove to be a holding pattern for the Attack as they didn’t see any shift in their scoring. The Wolves would dig for two more goals pulling them ahead by a single point.
The Attack would open strong in the third as only a minute in, Sedley would find the stick of Barlow as he out skated the Wolves defender. Barlow would send a shot towards the net that beat the goaltender far side for his third goal of the game, securing him the hat trick early in the third. Later in the period, McCue and Petrovsky would find themselves rushing the Wolves zone passing back and forth, Petrovsky would take a shot on net from behind the goal line to put the Attack up by one. Halfway though the third, Guindon would break into the offensives zone and cut into the slot and rip one home for the final goal of the game, securing the 6-4 win.
The Attack will be back in action March 21st as they face the Guelph Storm at the Sleeman Centre. The game will take place at 7pm and will be streamed off of Rogers TV and the CHL App. They will then be traveling back to home ice the following Saturday for their final regular season home game held at 4pm against the Guelph Storm.
