2024 OHL Under-18 Priority Selection Preview
Draft season continues on tonight for the Owen Sound Attack when they will participate in the 2024 Ontario Hockey League Under-18 Priority Selection. The Attack hold the 7th, 27th and if required the 47th overall picks. The draft will take place online starting at 7pm, tonight, Wednesday, April 17.
This is the eighth year for the U18 draft which allows OHL teams to draft players that are not currently on a CHL Member Team Protected List who were carded with a under-18 AAA Hockey Club within the OHF, HNO, or HEO in the 2023-24 playing season. This is a two-round draft; however, teams are permitted to make a third selection if they choose a goalie in one of the first two rounds.
The Attack will look to continue its success at finding roster players in the Under-18 draft. Finding another player like Kaleb Pearson, Logan LeSage, Griffin Wilson and current roster player Sam Ethier could add some more depth to the roster.
“We have had our fair share of success drafting players at the U-18 age group” said Attack General Manager Dale DeGray. “This draft allows us to add players to our prospect list who may have been missed or overlooked for a variety of reasons the year before.”
The 2024 OHL Under-18 Priority Selection will kick off at 7 p.m. , tonight, Wednesday, April 17 when the Windsor Spitfires make the first overall selection.
