PREVIEW
The Pats enter with a 6-4-0-1 record following back-to-back victories over the Seattle Thunderbirds and Moose Jaw Warriors, while the Silvertips bring a 4-6-1-2 record into the matchup as they continue their six-game East Division road trip.
The second period has been the difference for Regina over its last two outings. On Wednesday, the Pats erupted for five goals in the middle frame en route to a 6-0 victory over Seattle. Taylor Tabashniuk stopped all 18 shots for his first WHL shutout, while Samuel Karsay, Connor Bear, Maddox Schultz and Matt Paranych each recorded multi-point performances. Regina followed that effort with six second-period goals in Friday’s 6-2 win over Moose Jaw, overcoming a 1-0 deficit for its first comeback victory of the season. Liam Pue led the way with a career-high four points, including his second hat trick of the campaign.
The Pats have been dominant at the Brandt Centre, winning all five home games while outscoring opponents 29-6. Regina has held opponents below 30 shots in four of those five contests and nine of its 11 games overall. That defensive commitment has helped Tabashniuk put together an impressive start, with the Regina product carrying a 6-1-0-1 record through nine appearances. His 2.03 goals-against average ranks fourth in the WHL, while his .919 save percentage sits ninth and his six victories are tied for third.
Special teams have also been a major strength for the Blue Brigade. Regina ranks second in the WHL on both the power play, operating at 35 per cent, and the penalty kill, sitting at 86.4 per cent. The Pats have scored a power-play goal in 10 consecutive games and have killed all 12 penalties over their last four contests. At home, Regina’s penalty kill remains perfect at 21-for-21.
The Pats will need contributions throughout their lineup as Pue and Schultz depart to represent Canada at the U17 World Challenge, scheduled for November 1-7 in Oakville, Ont. The forwards will miss Regina’s next four games against Everett, Moose Jaw, Lethbridge and Brandon, creating opportunities for others to take on larger offensive roles.
The Everett Silvertips arrive in Regina midway through their six-game East Division road swing, having earned a 1-1-0-1 record through the first three stops. After a shootout loss to the Saskatoon Blades and a one-goal regulation defeat against the Prince Albert Raiders, the Silvertips rebounded with a 5-3 victory over the Brandon Wheat Kings.
Everett is coming off its first WHL championship in franchise history, defeating Prince Albert in five games in the league final. That championship capped a historic 2025–26 campaign in which the Silvertips finished atop the WHL standings with a franchise-best 57-8-2-1 record and 117 points.
Since joining the WHL as an expansion franchise in 2003–04, the Silvertips have qualified for the playoffs every season and made three appearances in the league final.
