Pats Trade Bridgeman To Cougars
Regina, Sask. – The Regina Pats have traded 20-year-old defenceman Kolten Bridgeman to the Prince George Cougars in exchange for a 2030 third-round pick and a 2030 sixth-round pick (conditional).
Bridgeman, a Regina product, appeared in 172 career games with the Pats from 2022-23 through 2026-27, recording 21 points (3G-18A) and 123 penalty minutes.
The 6-foot-5, 216-pound right-shot defenceman played 51 games for Regina last season, recording nine points (1G-8A) while serving as an alternate captain for the Pats.
Originally listed by Regina in 2021, Bridgeman made his WHL debut with his hometown club on September 23, 2022, against the Moose Jaw Warriors. Bridgeman was named the recipient of the Mike Kartusch Community Service Award as the Pats’ Community Player of the Year in both 2024-25 and 2025-26. He was also recognized as the Eastern Division Academic Player of the Year in 2024.
“Kolten has been a leader in our community over the last four years and has been a great teammate and leader within our Hockey Club,” said Pats General Manager Dale Derkatch. “We wish Kolten all the best in Prince George and thank him for his contributions to the team, both on and off the ice.”
The Regina Pats organization thanks Bridgeman for his commitment to the Club and the Regina community and wishes him all the best with the Prince George Cougars.
The Pats have now cut down to three 20-year-olds: Keets Fawcett, Ellis Mieyette and Zach Moore.
