Kingston drops two points in Kitchener Sunday night
Kitchener, ON- The Frontenacs finished their weekend with a trip to the Kitchener Auditorium to face the defending Memorial Cup champions, the Kitchener Rangers, for the first time this season.
The script was similar to Saturday night in Brantford when the Frontenacs surrendered the first two goals of the game. Royden Smith made his 4th start of the season and settled into the game after being tested a lot early. Later in the first period, Alex Misiak scored his second goal of the season, swinging the momentum in favour of the Frontenacs heading into the second period.
Carrying that momentum, Landon Wright and Nolan Snyder both scored for the Frontenacs to give Kingston their first lead of the game. They held the lead late into the second period before the Rangers struck with 43 seconds left in the frame, tying the game at three heading into the third.
Unfortunately for the Frontenacs, the Rangers came to play in the third. Scoring three goals, including one empty-netter to seal the game. 6-3, the final score in Kitchener on Sunday night.
Kingston now looks to regroup heading into two home games next weekend. The Peterborough Petes make the trip to Slush Puppie Place on Friday night for Y2K night, followed by the Erie Otters on Sunday.
