Frontenacs look to bounce back against Bulldogs
Brantford, ON – The Kingston Frontenacs will look to get back in the win column Saturday night when they visit the Brantford Bulldogs at the TD Civic Centre for a 7:00PM puck drop.
Saturday’s matchup marks the second game of Kingston’s first three-in-three weekend of the 2026-27 season and comes less than 24 hours after the Frontenacs suffered their first loss of the campaign, falling 5-3 to the Sarnia Sting at Slush Puppie Place.
The Frontenacs opened the season with consecutive victories over the Peterborough Petes and Ottawa 67’s, but saw their perfect start come to an end against Sarnia. Tomas Pobezal opened the scoring for Kingston, while the Frontenacs also received goals from Nolan Buttar and Vann Williamson. Despite matching Sarnia with 29 shots, Kingston was unable to overcome a 5-1 deficit against the Sting.
Kingston will now face one of the only remaining undefeated teams in the OHL.
The Bulldogs enter Saturday night with a perfect 3-0 record after defeating the Peterborough Petes 5-2 on Friday night. Brantford opened the season with a pair of victories over Niagara and Guelph before adding Friday’s win over Peterborough, outscoring its opponents 14-3 through their first three games.
Brantford’s strong start has been backed by impressive goaltending and balanced scoring. The Bulldogs allowed just one goal across their opening two games, while Jason Musa has found the scoresheet in each of Brantford’s first two contests. Xavier Lieb also made an immediate impact in his OHL debut, scoring twice in Brantford’s season-opening win over Niagara.
For the Frontenacs, Saturday presents an opportunity to respond quickly and close out the weekend on a high note.
Kingston entered the weekend ranked No. 2 in the OHL Power Rankings after opening the season 2-0, with rookie goaltender Royden Smith earning OHL Rookie of the Week honours following a 44-save performance in his OHL debut against Peterborough. Nolan Snyder has also registered five points through Kingston’s first three games, while Alex McLean recorded a three-point performance in the season opener.
The Frontenacs and Bulldogs will meet six times during the 2026-27 regular season, with Saturday serving as the first meeting between the two clubs. Kingston will return to Brantford on October 10th before hosting the Bulldogs at Slush Puppie Place on Sunday, November 1st.

Kingston: Nolan Snyder
Snyder leads the Frontenacs in points through the first three games of the season, and alongside the newly dubbed ‘Sophomore Line’ in Robin Kuzma and Aleks Kulemin, that chemistry has carried over from last season. Snyder found the back of the net in his first two games of the season and is primed to have a big season ahead of his NHL Draft year.
Brantford: Kaden McGregor
Acquired by Brantford in an offseason blockbuster with the Peterborough Petes, the former first overall pick has settled in nicely with the Bulldogs. McGregor found the back of the net against the aforementioned Petes last night in a 5-2 win, and has three points on the year in as many games.
