The Kingston Frontenacs, Scotiabank and United Way Kingston, Frontenac, Lennox & Addington are pleased to announce a partnership that hopes to make a positive impact on the community. All three organisations share a commitment to fostering social change and promoting community wellbeing and, through this collaboration, they hope to inspire others in the community as well.
The United Way KFL&A, Scotiabank and the Kingston Frontenacs launched the new partnership, titled “United Front” during the Kingston Frontenacs 2023-24 home opener at Leon’s Centre on Friday, September 29th 2023. The United Front initiative is dedicated to building awareness and generating donations that will help the community of Kingston thrive. The partnership builds on the Kingston Frontenacs commitment to giving back to the community through various programs including supporting the United Way KFL&A’s community donation drives like the Backpack Program, Tampon Tuesday and Winter Clothing Drive.
“This partnership aligns with the Kingston Frontenacs Hockey Club’s values and the team’s goals of bringing the community together,” said Nicole Kemp, Assistant Vice President, Business Operations. “We believe this partnership can provide a positive impact to the Kingston community, while also supporting incentives that help those in need. We are excited to work hand-in-hand with two dedicated partners in the United Way KFL&A and Scotiabank and we can’t wait to get started”.
The United Way KFL&A is an organization that works closely with community partners to ensure that people have the opportunity to reach their full potential and live with hope, dignity, and a sense of belonging. In 2022, over 54,000 individuals were helped locally through a United Way funded agency or program. Frontline agencies provided − and continue to provide − essential services for food, shelter, mental health, and other vitally important basic needs.
For 2023, United Way KFL&A set a campaign goal of $3,820,000 to continue supporting community programs and agencies. As of September 28, they are at 33% of their goal.
During the Kingston Frontenacs 2023-24 home opener, the Frontenacs, Scotiabank, and United Way KFL&A proudly drop the puck on our “United Front” initiative. This initiative will focus on assisting United Way KFL&A in reaching their 2023 fundraising goal. To start off the partnership with a hat trick, Scotiabank and the Kingston Frontenacs were pleased to present cheques totaling $20,000.00 to the United Way KFL&A at ice level.
