Guindon Named Huron Tractor Player of the Week
Cedrick Guindon has been named the Huron Tractor Player of the Week for the first week of March.
When you score four goals in a game you’re gonna get some recognition, and that’s what Guindon did during Friday nights game in Guelph. Not only did the young centre record his first career hat-trick, with the third goal tying the game late in regulation, but topped the night off with the overtime winner as well. Guindon not only got his team a much need two points as the Attack look to distance themselves from the bottom teams in the standings, but has registered 11 points in the past 6 games played.
Guindon would keep the hot stick, though not scoring, but picked up a pair of helpers, including a gorgeous cross-ice feed to Deni Goure on the power play, during the Saturday night affair against the Saginaw Spirit.
Guindon now sits fourth in league rookie scoring and second in goals scored by first year players, as he continues to build a strong freshman season in the league. At his current pace, Guindon is tracking to match the Owen Sound Franchise record for points by a rookie, currently held by Marian Kacir with 56.
