Storm Warning Called Off
The Owen Sound Attack hit the road for a date in Guelph with the Storm. Coming into tonight, Guelph had lost only FOUR games at home all year. One each to Plymouth, Windsor, Saginaw and Owen Sound. Kitchener has one game remaining with the Storm at the Sleeman Centre, but up until tonight, Owen Sound was the only MidWest division team to beat the Storm on their home ice…..and could they be the only OHL team to do it twice?
Jack Flinn would get the start for the Attack after a strong performance on the road in London last Friday night and would be called upon to make some big saves in this one. Robby Fabbri has scorched the Attack this year and he would add to his impressive total when he snapped his 43rd of the season past Flinn.
One thing the young Attack squad has not done is back down from adversity. For the second night in a row, the Attack would score in first 30 seconds of period two and tie the game at one courtesy of Kurtis Gabriel. The Attack would press some more and take the lead when Zach Nastasiuk buried his 22nd of the season. Up 2-1, the Attack would not be able to hold the lead as Scott Kosmachuk would bury his 43rd of the season but from there, it was ALL Owen Sound Attack.
Kyle Hope would score his 20th of the season with 18 seconds remaining in the second period while Holden Cook, Zach Nastasiuk (2nd) and Kyle Platzer would add third period goals to route the Storm 6-2. Jack Flinn made several big saves, especially when the game was close to keep the Bears in it.
The Three stars of the Game:
3) Scott Kosmachuk 1G
2) Zach Nastasiuk 2G,1A
1) Jack Flinn 36 saves
The Attack is back in action on Saturday night when they host the London Knights for Tim Horton’s night! Single and standing room tickets are available at the Attack Box Office. Game time is 7:30pm.
