London Calling
London will roll into the Bayshore to face the Attack this Saturday for what will be the teams’ 2nd meeting this season. The game will mark another divisional contest for the Attack; the 3rd out of 5 straight for the team.
Recently, the Attack have been playing very well at home. In their games at the Bayshore, Owen Sound is 8-2-1-1, collecting 18 crucial points. London has had similar success as of late, posting a record of 9-1 in their last 10 games. Prior to the game, members of the Investor’s Group will once again be executing The Plan to Attack Hunger. Fans are encouraged to bring canned goods, non perishable food items or any small monetary donation to Saturday’s game.
To stifle the powerful London offense, the Attack will have to look to their goaltending and strong team defense. Brandon Hope played well in the last game versus London, posting 27 saves in a tough game. Hope is coming off another strong performance against Plymouth, where the veteran netminder turned aside 37 shots on the way to his 14th win of the season.
Holden Cook has also been playing well for the Attack this season, already passing his point total from last season. He continues to be a strong presence at both ends of the ice, posting a team high plus minus of +10, while still contributing offensively. The fourth year winger has 3 points in his last 2 games, including the opening goal in Owen Sound’s eventual win against the Rangers last Saturday.
December 07-13: London @ Owen Sound
London has been playing well lately, as shown by their 9-1 record. They have a talented roster led by NHL draft picks such as Bo Horvat and Josh Anderson. Both Horvat and Anderson will join Owen Sound’s Chris Bigras at the National Selection Camp for the World Junior Tournament later on this month.
The Knights are also backed by the consistently strong play of goaltender Anthony Stolarz. In 23 games this season, Stolarz has compiled 17 wins while keeping a .930 percentage and a 2.38 goals against average. With Stolarz, the London penalty kill has been very successful thus far, placing 5th among all OHL teams. The Knights power play is also among league leaders, ranking 3rd in the OHL.
Look Out For: Chris Tierney has been put a solid season together for the Knights so far. The centre had a goal and an assist in London’s last visit to the Bayshore, He is currently playing very well, putting up 4 points in his last 4 games.
