Joe Tomato’s Weekend Preview – Week 6

Week 6 will take the Attack on a trip east down Highway 26 on Thursday to face the Barrie Colts for the second time this season, and then on Saturday night the Attack will return to the Bayshore for a matchup with the North Bay Battalion.
Thursday night will be a rematch of the Attack’s 10-0 victory over the Colts in which Sergey Popov had a goal and 5 assists and Mack Guzda with a 22-save shutout. There is no doubt that the Colts will be looking for a better result in Thursday Night’s game. The Attack will be tasked with containing Buffalo Sabres draft pick Matej Pekar who has been on a tear to start the season with 11 goals in 11 games. Puck drop is at 7:30 at the Colts Centre in Barrie.
On Saturday night the Attack are back in the Bayshore for their first meeting with the North Bay Battalion this season. The Battalion are currently sitting in 5th place in the Central division. Saturday night will be the second game in as many nights for the Battalion as they are in Guelph on Friday night to take on the Storm. Former Attack players Matthew Struthers, Mitchell Russell and Nick King return to Owen Sound, all 3 having previously played for the Attack. Matthew Struthers currently leads the Battalion in points with 13. Saturday’s game is sponsored by Classic Rock 94.5. Puck drop for Saturday’s contest is at 7:30.
