As the regular season winds down, the Owen Sound Attack continue their quest to clinch a playoff spot, beginning with a mid-week visit from the Barrie Colts on Wednesday night. The Attack will look for the season split having picked-up the 4-1 victory back in January, but had dropped the three previous meetings. Led by emerging stars Tyson Foerster and Brandt Clarke, the Colts find themselves sitting fifth in the Eastern Conference playoff picture. Foerster, an NHL draft prospect, continues to build his stock with a strong offensive season, leading the Colts with 80 points, placing him 15th in league scoring. Clarke has excelled since the turn of the new decade, registering 23 of his 37 points within the 2020 calendar year.
The Attack will then hit the road for a Friday night affair with the Sarnia Sting. Although out of the playoff picture, the Sting still boast a high-powered offense and have fully embraced the role of spoiler. Sarnia is led by overager Sean Josling and Carolina prospect Jamison Rees. Josling leads the Sting in scoring, registering 78 points on the season, while Rees is the emotional fire-bug, who has put up 61 points in just 39 games played. After dropping the first meeting back in November, the Attack will look for a third straight win over the Sting, with the last game going in favour of Owen Sound by way of a 5-0 shutout. This game will be televised on Rogers Grey County, aired on 560 CFOS and streamed at OHLlive.com.
A return to the Bayshore for Saturday night sees the Windsor Spitfires in town for the final meeting of the season with the Attack. Although sitting comfortably in fifth place in the Western Conference, the Spitfires have struggled recently earning just a pair of wins in their last 10 games. With no true offensive power, Windsor relies on a balanced team attack, with Egor Afanasyev and Tyler Angle leading the charge each with 67 points. The meeting comes just nine days after Kaleb Pearson’s dramatic overtime winner for the Attack back on March 5. Owen Sound will look to capture the season series currently leading with a 2-0-1 record.
Tickets for the Wednesday and Saturday game can be purchased at the MacVicar and McComb Sutton Sound Realty Attack Box Office or online.
