Binnington and Halmo Impress in AHL
Two members of the 2011/2012 Attack squad had something to smile about this past weekend.
Attack Captain Michael Halmo scored his first professional goal on the weekend against the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins in a 3-2 loss. Halmo scored Bridgeport’s 1st goal of the game only :22 seconds into the opening frame for his first goal and point of his professional career. Earlier this spring, Halmo signed a 3 year contract with the New York Islanders, the parent club of the AHL’s Bridgeport Sound Tigers.
The news kept getting even better as Jordan Binnington made his pro debut for the Peoria Rivermen in AHL action against the Chicago Wolves. The St. Louis Blues prospect turned aside 35 of 38 shots in a 4-2 loss (1 ENG) en route to being named the games 3rd Star.
