Attack Trio Invited To Hockey Canada U17 Virtual Camp
Cedrick Guindon, Gavin Bryant and Madden Steen all earned the right to don the red and white this summer at the Hockey Canada U17 Virtual Development Camp.
Due to the current pandemic the players will only be participating virtually however they are still thrilled by the recognition from Hockey Canada. Cedrick Guindon, the 10th overall selection in this year’s OHL draft, says: “I am truly honoured to be part of the U17 program. Having the chance to represent my country was always a dream when I was young, but giving me the opportunity to represent it again feels amazing.” Guindon previously represented Canada at the Youth Olympic Games.
Attack second round selection Gavin Bryant says: “I’m so excited and honoured to be invited to a tryout of this caliber. It’s Canada, it’s your country, you dream about this as a little kid in the driveway or playing road hockey. I’m not going to let this opportunity slide.”
It’s the same type of fantasy for third round pick Madden Steen: “I’m beyond honoured to be selected for the U17 event, ever since I was a young kid watching numerous Olympics and World Juniors, wearing the Maple Leaf has always been a dream of mine. Now to have that come true is beyond explanation. I can’t wait to get it started.”
The camp is the preliminary step to the U17 World Hockey Challenge, slated to take place this year in Charlottetown and Summerside, PEI from Oct. 31 to Nov. 7 with Team Canada icing Black, Red and White teams at the event.
