Attack Take Act to Woodstock
The Owen Sound Attack will look to notch their first pre-season win tomorrow when they travel to Woodstock, ON. to take on the Erie Otters in exhibition action on Saturday.
The Attack are 0-2 in the pre-season after back to back losses to the Barrie Colts on Labor Day Weekend. The task will surely get no easier as they will be without the services of Geoffrey Schemitsch (TB), Daniel Catenacci (BUF), Kurtis Gabriel (PHX) and Jordan Binnington (STL) as they have all headed off to NHL Camps.
The silver lining in the above is that with many veterans absent, the younger crop of players will have a better chance to get used to playing with one another. Devon Rymarchuk, Jake Dotchin, Kurtis MacDermid, Artur Gavrus and the other slew of newcomers will see their fair share of icetime in Woodstock.
With the loss of Joey Hishon, Garrett Wilson and Robby Mignardi, the Attack are still looking for an offensive catalyst to fill the void left by the three veterans. Artur Gavrus, Jarrod Maidens, Gemel Smith and Cameron Brace all look like good candidates, but the youngsters will have to ease themsevles into top line minutes.
Newly acquired Jacob Riley is expected to make his Attack debut in Woodstock versus the Otters tomorrow. The Attack are at home again on September 15th when the play host to the Mississauga St. Michael’s Majors. Game time at the Harry Lumley Bayshore Community Centre is 7:00pm.
