Attack Host Whalers Tonight!
The Owen Sound Attack returned home in the wee hours on Sunday morning with a 2-0 lead over the Plymouth Whalers in the Western Conference Semi-Finals. Saturday’s 3-2 win marked the first time the Attack have held a two game advantage during the playoffs, aside from the clinching game six contest over the Knights. The Attack’s win on Saturday was also the fourth in a row during the post season.
“We’re winning a lot of one goal games right now.”, stated Attack Captain Garrett Wilson. “It would be nice if we could break it open a little more, but wins are wins and they are what matter most right now.”
The Attack has trailed by two goals in the first two games of the series, fighting back from 3-1 and 2-0 deficits to squeak out victories. Veteran netminder Scott Stajcer has made a successful return to the crease, appearing in three games, while recording a 2-0 record to go along with a 1.16 GAA and a .957 save percentage. Geoffrey Schemitsch was named the games first star with a two assist performance and Roman Berdnikov notched the game winner on Saturday in the third period for his second of the playoffs.
It is expected that Stajcer will make his second straight start tonight against the Whalers. Tickets for tonight’s game are available by visiting the Attack Box Office in the front lobby of the Harry Lumley Bayshore Community Center. Tickets are also available by calling (519) 371-7452. A reminder to ALL fans to wear WHITE to the games.
