Attack Hold on to Win 4-3
The Attack was at home against the Bulls on Saturday night for Cameron Brace’s first game back at the Bayshore since being traded from Owen Sound earlier this season.
Brandon Hope would get the start for the Attack, while goalie Braydon Banitsiotis would get his first career start for the Bulls.
The Attack would strike first in the game, with Holden Cook scoring his 9th goal of the season. Kyle Hope and Kurtis Gabriel both assisted on the marker. Owen Sound continued their strong play throughout the period, keeping the one goal advantage heading into the second.
The Bulls were quick to respond after the intermission, scoring with the man advantage. Defenseman Jake Worrad put the puck past Hope to tie the game at one.
Prior to the second period, the Attack played a video tribute to Cameron Brace on the video board, drawing a standing ovation from many Attack fans. Owen Sound would fight back soon after, scoring two of their own goals in the second frame. Smith scored his 20th of the season, while Kyle Hope knocked home his 5th of the season on an Attack power play. The Attack were not done there, as Jaden Lindo buried his 6th of the season and 3rd point of the game on another power play early in the third.
It was all Attack after the Lindo goal, until late in the third period, where the Bulls fought back into the game with two quick goals. Cameron Brace tallied the first goal for the Bulls, while Garrett Hooey scored his 15th of the season just over a minute later.
The Hooey goal was the last marker of the game, as Brandon Hope and the Attack shut the door late to preserve the win at home.
