Attack Fall to Knights at Home
The Knights came into the Bayshore on Saturday night for what marked the 2nd meeting between the Attack and their divisional rivals this season. The Attack were also at home for the previous game which took place in October, where the Knights pulled off a victory in a close contest.
Jack Flinn got the start for the Attack, as Brandon Hope would get the night off after an impressive win over the Guelph Storm. Jake Patterson would get the call for the Knights.
The first period was fast paced, with each team getting their chances. London’s Josh Anderson would be the first to convert in the game, putting the puck past Flinn on the power play for his 15th of the season. The goal was assisted by Max Domi and Bo Horvat.
Owen Sound would continue to fight until they equalized late in the period. Kyle Hope got his 7th of the season, finishing off a play from Holden Cook and Damir Sharipzyanov.
The second frame was much like the first, as Anderson would once again put the puck in to open the scoring for the period. The winger’s 16th of the season was shorthanded. He skated down the ice and put it high on Flinn to put the Attack back by one.
Nastasiuk was next to score in the game, putting home his 13th of the season soon after Anderson’s marker. The captain’s goal was unassisted, and would be the last of the game for the Attack. London would put in one more before the end of the period, as Marner scored for the Knights.
The third period was London’s. Despite the hard work of the Attack, the Knights were able to knock home three goals in the third, putting the game out of reach. The final score was 6-2 for London.
Nastasiuk was awarded the honour of 3rd star for his hard work and goal, while the other 2 stars were given to the Knight’s Basso and Anderson.
Three Stars:
1) Josh Anderson (2G)
2) Alex Basso (2A)
