Attack Drop Shootout Decision to Knights
The Attack hosted the London Knights on Wednesday evening in what was their 6th and final regular season meeting of the year.
Coming into this game, the Attack were 1-4 on the season, winning their last matchup at the Budweiser Gardens.
The pace of this game would be quick from the start as the teams traded chances back and forth. London would get the best chance with just over five minutes remaining as Josh Anderson was awarded a penalty shot and he made no mistake, burying the biscuit for a 1-0 lead.
The home town crowd seemed to take severe displeasure with the call and the team seemed to rally around that, tying the game shortly thereafter when Daniel Milne hammered in a great behind the net pass from Artur Gavrus.
The Attack would take a 2-1 lead in the second period when Zach Nastasiuk banked the puck off of Knights goaltender Patterson from behind the net. The action would continue to be fast paced and heavy hitting and the Knights would tie the game with 2:33 left when a clearing attempt was deflected back in front and Bo Horvat would bury his 30th of the season.
The third period provided more drama for the Bears. After a wild period, Brayden Rose would one-time in a slap shot in from the point to give the Attack a 3-2 lead, but just several minutes later Remi Elie would tie the game from right side of Binnington.
Overtime provided several great chances, but it was off to a shootout. The Attack were not able to muster a goal on Patterson and Ryan Rupert would bury past Binnington to give the Knights a 4-3 SO lead.
The Centennial Windows Three Stars were:
3) Daniel Milne 1G
2) Brayden Rose 1G
1) Bo Horvat 1G
The Attack is back in action this Friday and Saturday when they host the Erie Otters for a two game home stand.
Standing room tickets for both games are available at the Attack Box Office.
