Attack Drop Colts 5-3
The Attack took to the ice on Wednesday for what would be their last home game until November 16th. The Attack’s next seven games will be on the road.
It was wayback Wednesday as the Attack dawned their retro Plater jerseys for the third time this season. Former Attack Platers Mike and Steve Parson were on hand to drop the puck this evening as the Attack continue their 25th Anniversary Celebrations.
Brandon Hope would make his 7th straight start for the Attack tonight and would be called upon several times to make some big saves.
The Colts would open the scoring in the first period as Jake Dotchin would send home his 3rd of the season. From there the Attack would rebound quite nicely as Kyle Hope would put the rebound home for his 2nd of the year to draw even at one.
Tied at one heading into the 2nd period, the Attack would take the lead when the point shot of Thomas Schemitsch would find its way between the legs of Mackenzie Blackwood as a powerplay expired. Barrie would respond shortly thereafter when Zach Hall buried his 3rd of the year on the powerplay. While shorthanded 5 on 3, Attack defenseman Damir Sharipzyanov would be sprung loose on a breakaway as he came out of the box and let an absolute laser go, beating Blackwood under the bar to give the Attack a 3-2 lead. Erik Bradford would respond less than a minute later tying the game at three. The Bears would buckle down and take a 4-3 lead courtesy of The Sledgehammer.
Holden Cook would get the insurance marker in the third to make it 5-3. The unsung hero of the night was Zach Nastasiuk who had two assists, however; he seemed to do whatever it took to block shots, laying down in front of shot after shot from the Barrie players.
The Three Stars of the Game were:
3) Erik Bradford 1g,1a
2) Kyle Hope 1g,1a
1) Damir Sharipzyanov 1G
The Attack have 18 points, 11 of which have been obtained in their last 7 games, which is good enough for 4th in the Western Conference.
