Attack Draw Even with 4-3 Win!
The Attack were coming off a tough 6-3 loss on home ice Tuesday night and were looking to bounce back in front of the home town crowd and tie the series at two a piece.
The team that had scored first in each of the first three games had actually lost the game and the Attack was hoping to buck that trend. Kurtis Gabriel was a huge factor in games 2 and 3 of the series and would make his mark in game 4 when he struck first on the powerplay. The Attack would add to their lead when Dan Catenacci tipped home a point shot past Nedeljkovic to make it 2-0.
Period number two started out the same way period one ended as Holden Cook and Artur Gavrus would both score from the left side of Nedeljkovic to give the Attack a 4-0 lead and send the Bayshore faithful into a tizzy. The Whalers would swim themselves back into the game when they converted on a powerplay to get on the board. Before the period was over, Stefan Noesen would notch his 5th of the playoffs to make the game 4-2 at the end of two.
The Attack kept on the gas pedal and continued to throw everything at the net, but Matt Mahalak, who replaced Nedeljkovic, would be solid. Vince Trocheck would add a late marker, but the Attack would hold the fort and skate off with a 4-3 win.
The Attack were 2/5 on the power play while the Whalers were 1/4.
The Centennial Windows Three Stars of the Game were:
3) Vince Trocheck 1G,2A
2) Holden Cook 1G
1) Artur Gavrus 1G
The Attack will now travel to Plymouth on Friday for Game 5 before returning home to the Bayshore on Sunday for Game 6. Full ticket information will follow shortly.
