ATTACK CLOSE OUT 2009-2010 SEASON
Our Owen Sound Attack closed out their 2009-2010 Ontario Hockey League season Saturday night when the Guelph Storm were our guests. The Storm hockey club that finished the regular season winning their last 6 games and 9 of 10 to jump from 9th position in the OHL Western Conference to 6th on the final day of 2009-2010 regular season competition.

The Attack ran into a hot goaltender in Guelph’s Brandon Foote who would face 41 Attack shots, but not let a single puck get behind him.

Peter Holland’s rocket wrist shot by the glove hand of Jordan Binnington short-handed at 11:54 of the second period would be the game winner. Fans were over heard discussing that goal during the second intermission. There was a question as to whether Jordan should have had that shot. A fan mentioned, that since that was Holland’s 29th of the season, you can bet that that is not the first time he beat a goaltender like that.

Just to prove that his 29th was no fluke, Peter wired the same shot past Jordan right in front of those fans for his 2nd of the game and 30th of the season at 13:14 of the third period. As their season closed out, our Attack did all they could to get a puck behind Foote. With Jordan pulled for the extra Attacker, Storm defenceman Adam Comrie pumped the puck the length of the ice for his 14th of the season at 18:57.

Final score Guelph 3 – Owen Sound 0. Final shots on net were 41-30 Attack.
