Preview: Western Conference Showdowns – Attack Face Rangers & Sting
The Owen Sound Attack face a pivotal weekend in the Western Conference as they embark on a road trip to Kitchener before returning home to host the Sarnia Sting. Friday’s matchup in Kitchener will mark the fourth meeting between the two teams this season, with all three previous games decided by a single goal. The Attack will then look to continue their success against Sarnia on Saturday, having won two of the three previous encounters this year.
The Attack will travel to Kitchener on Friday night to face the Rangers. All three previous games were decided by one goal with the Bears winning their last meeting 5-4 in overtime back in November. The Rangers currently sit 5 points out of first place in the Western Conference and boast the leagues best penalty kill. Friday night’s game can be seen on Rogers Television Georgian Bay, streamed on CHLtv and heard on 560 CFOS Bear Radio.
The week wraps up with a crucial home game against the Sting. The Bears have the Stings number this year, winning two of their three matchups with 5-2 and 5-3 scores. The Sting are seventh place in the Western Conference two more points ahead of the SOO Greyhounds. Both teams have gained lots of momentum in their last five games. The Attack will be looking to get back in the win column after dropping their last two games against a Sting team that is playing hot of late, winners of four of their past five games. Tickets for Saturday’s game, while limited, can be purchased at the MacVicar & McComb Sutton Realty Attack Box Office, over the phone at 519-371-7452 or online at tickets.attackhockey.com. If you cannot attend, the game will be available on Rogers Television Georgian Bay and streamed on CHLtv.
