Paul Gibson For Attack’s New Goalie Coach
Much has happened in the Bear Den as we gear up for the 2023-24 hockey season, including the hiring of Goaltending coach Paul Gibson.
Owen Sound Attack’s General Manager, Dale DeGray, says he feels fortunate to have hired Gibson. “He is a talented coach with several years of experience working in the League. I look forward to seeing him work with our goalies to help enhance their skills and strengths on and off the ice.”
Prior to joining the Attack, Gibson had several years of experience working in the League. His experience, both on and off the ice as a goalie and a goaltending coach, gives Gibson a well-rounded understanding of what it takes to perfect a goalie’s skills, technique, and stability.
As a goalie himself, Gibson completed many seasons with The St. Thomas Stars in the WOHL (2003 to 2007) as well as Ryerson University’s Ryerson Rams (2007 to 2011).
“I’m extremely excited and grateful for the opportunity to work with a high-caliber and respected organization in Owen Sound. There is a rich history of developing goaltenders and athletes to the next level.”
In the goaltending coach world, Gibson has provided guidance and worked with teams such as The St. Thomas Stars (from 2014 to 2018), the University of Guelph’s Guelph Gryphons (from 2018 to 2021), and The Oshawa Generals (from 2019 to 2023).
Gibson says he is looking forward to working with Owen Sound’s Attack team and staff. “I am excited about the opportunity to develop the goaltenders in the organization, both on and off the ice.”
