OHL Power Rankings: Feb. 2, 2026
Who’s up:
Kitchener Rangers – up one spot to #2 this week
The Rangers keep rolling along, earning five of a possible six points last week with home wins over Sarnia and Windsor paired with an overtime loss in Owen Sound. The Blueshirts have a firm grip on the Midwest Division, looking to earn their first division banner since 2018. Jack Pridham came away as the OHL Player of the Month for January, and Christian Humphreys’ 14-game point streak rolls over into February. Circle your calendars for Rangers at Knights on Wednesday night!
Barrie Colts – up one spot to #3 this week
The Colts are up to a season-high third place on this week’s list, continuing their recent success with road wins over Flint and Saginaw. The Colts overcame a 5-3 deficit on Friday in Flint, battling back with three unanswered goals capped by Emil Hemming’s OT winner. Barrie has just one regulation loss in the last 15 games, coming against top-ranked Brantford.
Windsor Spitfires – up one spot to #5 this week
The Spits gain back some ground this week, defeating North Bay 4-3, losing 7-2 in Kitchener before rebounding in a 4-1 win over Sarnia on Sunday night. As they’ve been for Windsor in some recent playoff quests, the Kitchener Rangers seem to be kryptonite having claimed both meetings between the two clubs this season. Joey Costanzo enters a northern road trip with stops in North Bay, Sudbury and Sault Ste. Marie with 99 wins in his OHL career.
Flint Firebirds – up one spot to #6 this week
The Firebirds let one get away at home to Barrie on Friday, but bounced back to defeat the Sarnia Sting 6-3 on Saturday behind a five-point (2-3–5) performance from Kevin He. Things are tight atop the Western Conference standings, with the Firebirds sitting one point back of first place Windsor. New York Rangers prospect Nathan Aspinall leads the OHL with 67 points (24-43–67) in 46 games while Mason Vaccari’s 26 wins are tied for the league lead.
Peterborough Petes – up three spots to #10 this week
There’s definitely a logjam in the middle of the power rankings, but wins over both Sudbury and Kingston, despite a loss to Ottawa, ensured the maroon and white climbed up the latest list. Easton Rye keeps piling up the wins in the Petes crease, maintaining a .915 save percentage in the face of one of the heaviest workloads in the OHL with his 1,145 saves, good for second-most in the league. The Petes currently hold down fourth place in the Eastern Conference with a five-point cushion on Niagara and North Bay.
Owen Sound Attack – up three spots to #14 this week
After a few weeks on the outside looking in, the Bears are back having beaten both Kitchener and Guelph at the Bayshore. Lenny Greenberg came through with an overtime thriller while Trenten Bennett stood tall in the crease in Wednesday’s win against the Rangers, snapping a run of nine consecutive home losses. Pierce Mbuyi and Nicholas Sykora both got the monkey off their backs with production over the weekend – hopefully a sign of positive things to come for the Attack, who visit Peterborough, Kingston and Ottawa this week.
Brampton Steelheads – up two spots to #15 this week
The Trout collected five of a possible six points on the week, with fine goaltending from overage vet Zach Bowen. The young kids were doing their thing as well, with Keaton Ardagh earning OHL Rookie of the Week honours with three goals and an assist over three outings. Julian DeMiglio led Brampton offensively with six points (2-4–6) in three games. The Steelheads are three points back of eighth place Sudbury in the Eastern Conference standings.
Who’s down:
Ottawa 67’s – down two spots to #4 this week
It doesn’t take much to slip when you’re seated at the heights of the power rankings, and Sunday’s 5-2 home loss to the Sudbury Wolves bears consequences for the 67’s, who drop two spots to fourth. The loss but an end to an 11-game home winning streak for Ottawa, who opened the weekend with a 4-1 win over the Peterborough Petes on Friday. Ottawa sits two points back of East Division-leading Brantford, but leads the OHL with 35 wins. The 67’s host the Bulldogs in a highly-anticipated Saturday afternoon matchup.
Soo Greyhounds – down two spots to #7 this week
The Hounds hit the road and went 0-3, with a regulation loss in Niagara before shootout losses in Erie and Brantford. They had to play most of the weekend without blueliner Spencer Evans who was serving a suspension. The Hounds sit seven points back of third place Flint in the Western Conference standings, with a two-point cushion over fifth place London on home ice in the first round of the playoffs. Veteran forward Marco Mignosa enters the week with 99 career goals.
Kingston Frontenacs – down two spots to #12 this week
The Fronts beat Oshawa and Sudbury by 3-2 scores before seeing their eight-game home winning streak snapped in Sunday’s 5-3 loss to Peterborough, who the Fronts have struggled against this season, losing six of seven. Gavin Betts had a strong week in the crease, going 2-1 with a 2.45 goals-against average and .919 save percentage. The Fronts are in Brantford on Wednesday, sitting four points back of sixth place North Bay in the Eastern Conference.
North Bay Battalion – down one spot to #13 this week
The Battalion took one-goal road losses in Windsor and Niagara while defeating the London Knights 3-2 in a shootout on Friday night. Jack Lisson started all three games for the Troops, who saw Sunday’s game slip away with just 1.8 seconds remaining on a goal by Niagara’s Ryan Roobroeck. The Battalion, who have lost five of their last seven, are back home against Windsor on Thursday night.
Guelph Storm – down three spots and off the list this week
The Storm have struggled of late, with losses to previously unranked Brampton and Owen Sound pushing them off the list for the first time this season. They’re on the road in Erie, Kitchener, Niagara and London over their next four games, holding down seventh in the Western Conference with a one-point lead on Saginaw.
Saginaw Spirit – down two spots and off the list this week
The Spirit took 4-2 losses against both Sarnia and Barrie, giving up a little bit of ground to the Sting, who together with Erie trail the Spirit by seven points for the last playoff spot in the Western Conference. Saginaw has lost four straight and plays host to Sault Ste. Marie, Erie and London at the Dow Event Center this week.
