OHL Power Rankings: Dec. 8, 2025
Who’s up:
Brantford Bulldogs – up one spot to #1 this week
After one week at #2, the Bulldogs are back on top of the pile following home wins over Kingston and North Bay. Jett Luchanko is off to a great start as a Bulldog, recording five points (2-3–5) through his first five games. Jake O’Brien continues to lead the OHL in scoring with 45 points (11-34–45).
Soo Greyhounds – up two spots to #4 this week
The Hounds scored 18 goals over two games, defeating Oshawa 11-2 and Sarnia 7-3. Brady Martin and Chase Reid both recorded three goals and two assists over the weekend as the Greyhounds put in some work to try and improve their power play, that has struggled to start the season. The Hounds are home for three straight this week, hosting Kitchener, Brampton and Owen Sound.
Kitchener Rangers – up two spots to #5 this week
The Blueshirts lost to Erie at home on Tuesday before rattling off three straight wins, defeating London, Peterborough and Guelph. Nashville Predators prospect Cameron Reid scored Sunday’s game-winner against the Storm. He’s recorded over a point-per-game on the blueline, with 28 points (9-19–28) over 27 outings.
Barrie Colts – up one spot to #8 this week
The Colts are rolling, with points in 15 of their last 16 games. The took road wins over Ottawa and Kingston over the weekend, with Ben Hrebik continuing to stand out among the league’s top goaltenders. The Colts face a good test at home to Owen Sound on Thursday night. They sit atop the Central Division with a record of 16-8-1-4.
Niagara IceDogs – up four spots to #13 this week
The IceDogs shook themselves out of a nine-game slump thanks to great goaltending from Vladislav Yermolenko. Niagara surged back from down 2-0 with four goals in the latter half of the third period on Friday in Brampton before defeating North Bay 2-1 in overtime on Sunday thanks to a game-winner from Riley Patterson.
Erie Otters – up two spots to #15 this week
The Otters are coming around of late, making their first power rankings appearance since the preseason edition on Sept. 15th. The Otters beat the Kitchener Rangers on Teddy Bear Toss night at the Aud on Tuesday before splitting back-to-back games in Owen Sound. Former Attack forward Michael Dec came up big for the Otters, with six points (3-3–6) over the two games at the Bayshore.
Who’s down:
Ottawa 67’s – down one spot to #2 this week
The Barber Poles learned first-hand how hard it is to hold on to top spot on the power rankings, losing 4-1 to the Barrie Colts on Friday before defeating Peterborough and Flint to close-out the weekend. Overage forward Cooper Foster continues to produce for the 67’s, recording a goal and three primary assists in Saturday’s road win over Peterborough before taking on a goal and an assist on Sunday. Ottawa trails first place Brantford by three points in the East Division, owning a record of 21-7-1-1.
Flint Firebirds – down two spots to #6 this week
The Firebirds collected three of a possible six points on their East Division road trip, losing in Peterborough, beating Kingston and falling in a shootout in Ottawa. The Birds have benefitted from the addition of Darels Uljanskis to the blueline. The Anaheim Ducks prospect missed the start of the season with an injury, but has since recorded seven points (2-5–7) over 10 games.
London Knights – down two spots to #7 this week
The Knights ended the weekend on a high note, with Andoni Fimis scoring the OT winner in a 3-2 triumph in Windsor on Saturday. This win followed back-to-back losses as the Knights fell to the Kitchener Rangers 4-3 on Wednesday before a 4-1 loss to Windsor at home on Friday. The Knights prepare for life without head coach Dale Hunter in the near future as he heads off for Canadian National Junior Team duty with camp beginning next weekend in Niagara Falls.
Owen Sound Attack – down one spot to #9 this week
The Bears split decisions against the Erie Otters at home over the weekend, winning 6-2 on Friday before a 5-1 loss on Saturday night. Caden Taylor scored his first goal in an Attack uniform on Friday, He has seven points (1-6–7) over 10 games since coming over from Peterbrough.
Brampton Steelheads – down one spot to #14 this week
The Trout lost a pair of home games against Guelph and Niagara before defeating the Saginaw Spirit 4-1 at CAA Centre on Saturday. Josh Avery scored twice in the win, bringing the teddy bears to the ice. Luke Johnson made 24 saves for his first career OHL win. Brampton remains in the playoff picture, leading eighth place Kingston by three points with a record of 12-14-2-1.
Kingston Frontenacs – down two spots to #16 this week
The Fronts are in a bit of a free-fall, holding on to a spot in the top-16 leading into a Wednesday night home date with the Oshawa Generals. Kingston lost three straight against some tough opponents last week, falling to Brantford, Flint and Barrie. They’re looking for their first win since Nov. 16th.
Saginaw Spirit – down two spots and off the list this week
The Spirit are off the list following losses in Guelph and Brampton. They sit tied with Erie for the last playoff spot in the Western Conference.
Oshawa Generals – down one spot and off the list this week
The Gennies beat the Sudbury Wolves 6-3 behind six unanswered goals on Sunday, but this followed an 11-2 drubbing at the hands of the Soo Greyhounds Friday night. The Generals sit one point back of Sudbury at the bottom of the Eastern Conference with a record of 9-19-0-0.
