Joe Tomatoes Weekend Preview Week #2 – Long Weekend Ahead for Attack
As Canadians prepare for the Thanksgiving long weekend, the Attack prepare for a long weekend of hockey that will see them play three games in four nights. They will kick off their weekend with a pair of games against midwest division rivals, the Kitchener Rangers on Friday night at the Aud, then return home to the Bayshore to take on the Erie Otters on Saturday night. They will close out the long weekend with a rare Thanksgiving Monday battle in North Bay against the Battalion.
For the first time this season fans will get a look at the full Attack line-up with Colby Barlow having returned to the team earlier this week and Kaleb Lawrence moved to Ottawa in a trade. They will hope to see overage forward Deni Goure continue his hot start, while looking to the likes of Colby Barlow, Cedrick Guindon, Servac Petrovsky and Ethan Burroughs to be major contributors on offence.
Friday night, the Attack will head to the Kitchener Memorial Auditorium to take on a Rangers team that is off to a hot start, sitting at 3-0-0-0, while out scoring their opponents a combined 15-4 just over a week into the season. The blue shirts have rode strong goaltending and a balanced scoring attack to their early success. The Attack will need to push the pace of play capitalize on their opportunities to come out with the first two points of the weekend.
In the back half of a back-to-back set of games the Attack will host a young and very capable Erie Otters team. The Otters have opened the season 0-2-0-0 scoring just three goals, while allowing 10 against. The Otters are not a team you want to overlook with young core that includes Malcolm Spence, Carey Terrence and Matthew Schaefer.
The Attack will close out their long weekend back on the road to face a familiar foe in the North Bay Battalion. The Attack closed out their pre-season schedule with a 4-1 victory the last time these two teams met. Since then the Battalion have opened the regular season with 1-1-0-1 record scoring nine times while allowing 11 goals against. The Attack will need to find a way to solve North Bay goaltender Dom DiVincentiis and the hold in check Anthony Romani and crew as they look to grab their final points of the weekend.
Tickets for Saturday night’s game are still available and can be purchased at the MacVicar & McComb Sutton Realty Attack Box Office in person, or on the phone at 519-371-7452 or online at tickets.attackhockey.com. Game time is set for 7pm.
