History on the Horizon as Attack get set for HFC Game
Though just a single game on the schedule this week, the Owen Sound Attack are chasing history. Owen Sound will be going for their 700th win as the Attack, when they host the London Knights Saturday night at the Bayshore.
History isn’t the only thing that is on the line Saturday night, as the game is also the annual Hockey Fights Cancer game in Owen Sound, as the Attack and their fans look to do their best to take a bit out of cancer!
As in previous years, the Attack will be wearing specialty jerseys for the game, with the jersey’s then being auctioned off to fans. Like last season this auction is held over Dash and is open for bidding all week, with the auction closing on the evening of Sunday, November 6. In house, there will be a silent auction, a chuck-a-puck contest and bucket pass where fans can make their mark on helping fight cancer.
The action on the ice will have no shortage of excitement, as the Midwest rivals clash for their third meeting of the season. After struggling against the Knights last year, the Bears are looking for their fourth straight win over the green and gold, having claimed victory in the final meeting last season, while winning both contests to begin this year, including a 7-2 drubbing just two weeks ago. London, who was off to a slow start to begin the year, is enjoying a small hot streak after the blowout, as they have won four of their last five games.
After a small three game skid at the start of the season, the Attack have righted the ship winning seven of their last eight games, with the past three victories coming without captain Colby Barlow in the lineup. During the three game streak, the Bears have been led on offence by veteran players Deni Goure and Matthew Papais, with Goure’s performance being recognized as the OHL Player of the Week. The Attack have also gotten some stellar goaltending performances over this span, even with starter Nick Chenard on the sidelines, Corbin Votary and 16-year old rookie Carter George have more than handled the work load, with George picking up wins in his first two OHL appearances, also getting recognized by the OHL as Goalie of the Week.
With plenty of intriguing storylines entering Saturday night, the divisional matchup is sure to entertain. Tickets for Saturday night are becoming limited, but can be purchased at the MacVicar and McComb Sutton Realty Attack Box Office, in-person or by phone (519-371-7452) or can be purchased online at tickets.attackhockey.com.

THIS UPDATE WILL SHUTDOWN BOTH ONLINE AND IN-PERSON TICKET PURCHASES SO FANS ARE ASKED TO PLAN ACCORDINGLY FOR PURCHASING TICKETS.
