Bears Set for Midweek Battle with Sting
The Owen Sound Attack continue their five game homestead with a midweek battle against Western Conference foes the Sarnia Sting on Wednesday night at 7pm at the Bayshore. The Sting head into the game with a 7-6-1-3, which is good enough for 6th place in the Western Conference.
The Sarnia Sting are led by Easton Wainwright (8-6-14), Mitch Young (2-11-13), Ty Doucette (7-5-12), Zak Filak (4-8-12) and Kaeden Johnston (4-8-12), who have paced the Sting offence. On the back end the Attack will need to find a solution for Nick Surzycia who heads into the week with a 3.24 goals against average and 0.904 save percentage. Special teams could be an intriguing battle on Wednesday night as the two teams sit four spots apart in the power play and penalty kill rankings. On the power play the Attack are is currently ranked 15th at 14.5%, while Sarnia is 19th converting 11.5% of the time. On the penalty kill the Attack boost the leagues 12th best penalty kill with a success rate of 79.2%, while Sarnia has the 8th ranked kill at 81.7%.
The Attack have two more games this week against the Kitchener Rangers on Saturday, November 9 at 7pm for Hockey Fights Cancer night and finishing it off with another Investment Planning Counsel Sunday against the Sudbury Wolves on Sunday, November 10 at 2pm.
