It was four goal explosion during the second period that propelled the Owen Sound Attack to their third straight win, as they skated to a 6-3 victory over the Highway 6 rival Guelph Storm Friday night.
During the Attack’s short win streak, their offence has exploded with 17 goals over the three games. Owen Sound opened the scoring just under eight minutes in, with Kaleb Lawrence showing off some soft hands in front for his 12th of the year. Though Guelph was able to pull even, it was late in the opening period when Deni Goure sent a floating shot through traffic from the point to give the Attack their lead back.
Owen Sound needed just under three minute into period two to extend their lead to a pair, when Jackson Stewart netted his first as a Bear, as his shot fooled the Storm net minder. The games scoring then exploded just over the halfway point of the period, as the teams combine for four goals in just under three minutes. Included in the scoring was Barlow, along with Sam Sedley and Cedrick Guindon as the Attack pulled out to a 6-2 lead heading into the final 20 minutes of action.
During the final period, Owen Sound saw adversity having to kill off four penalties, and while they saw their lead shrink to three, the Attack stayed strong showing great team defence to preserve their lead.
