Attack Sign OHL Priority Selection Draft Pick Forward, Blake Munnings
The Owen Sound Attack are proud to announce the signing of defenceman Blake Munnings.
A native of Campbellford, ON, Munnings was selected by the Attack in the second round (28th overall) of the 2025 OHL Priority Selection.
Attack Head Coach, Scott Wray expressed his excitement about Munnings joining the organization.
“Blake is a defenceman with a high hockey IQ. He moves well, has strong feet, and brings a very effective offensive element to his game,” said Wray.
Standing 6’0” and weighing 185 pounds, Munnings joins the Attack from the Quinte Red Devils U16 program. He recorded 4 goals and 18 assists for 22 points over 32 games during the 2024–25 season.
“Signing with Owen Sound is truly a dream come true,” said Munnings.
Reflecting on draft day, Munnings described it as one of the most nerve-wracking experiences of his life.
“Not knowing if or when my name would be called… when Owen Sound was on the clock and I heard my name, it felt like winning the lottery,” he shared.
He also recounted a special memory from that evening.
“My dad and I went fishing after the first day of the draft. We didn’t catch anything—but hearing I was signing with Owen Sound made it the best night of fishing I’ve ever had. I’m beyond grateful for the opportunity to wear the Attack jersey and can’t wait to get started.”
Attack General Manager, Dale DeGray is confident in what Munnings brings to the team.
“Blake is a smooth-skating, puck-moving defender with excellent size and physicality. He should fit in seamlessly with our group and benefit greatly from our coaching staff. We’re excited to welcome him to Owen Sound and look forward to seeing him in September.”
