Attack Ready to Clash with Pair of Eastern Teams
The OHL schedule has finally returned to normal, as the Owen Sound Attack are set to host a pair of Eastern Conference teams this weekend.
The defending J. Ross Robertson Cup Champion Hamilton Bulldogs will visit the Bayshore for a rare Friday night tilt. Though losing some top players from their championship run, the Bulldogs still boast a strong lineup, with NHL prospects in Ryan Winterton (2021, 67th overall SEA), and Artem Grushnikov (2021, 48th overall DAL), as well as their leading playoff scorer in overage Logan Morrison. Friday night will mark the first time that the two teams have met since a 7-6 OT winner by the Attack, back on Feb. 26th, 2020. A total of nine skaters, who played back in 2020, are still active on their teams respective roster, with five of the skaters (Nolan Seed, Deni Goure, Sam Sedley, Kaleb Lawrence, Ethan Burroughs) on the Attack roster.
A normal Saturday night affair will see the Mississauga Steelheads, with recently returned Owen Beck (2022, 33rd overall MTL), make their first appearance at the Bayshore since Christmas time of 2019. Along with Beck, the Steelheads boast a pair of other NHL prospects in Luca DelBelBelluz (2022, 44th overall CBJ) and Ethan Del Mastro (2021, 105th overall CHI). Having finished last season 4th in the East, but losing in round two of the playoffs to Hamilton, the Steelheads entered the 2022-23 season as an early favourite to finish a top the conference.
Having recently been named in the CHL Top 10 Power Rankings (8th), the Attack look to continue their strong start to the season, as the team is excited to measure themselves against two top Eastern Conference opponents.
Tickets for both weekend games can be purchased at the MacVicor and McComb Sutton Realty Attack Box Office (519) 371-7452 or online.
