Attack Lose Goaltending Battle 2-1 to North Bay
The Owen Sound Attack made their annual early September trip to North Bay for a pre-season Sunday matinee against the Battalion. Returning to line-up for the Attack on Sunday were the likes of Colby Barlow, Sam Sedley, Cedrick Guindon, Taos Jordan and Landen Hookey. After scoring an early marker, the Bears second tune-up game for the 2023-24 regular season turned into a goaltending battle that would end in a 2-1 shootout loss for the road team.
Game Highlights:
- Kaleb Lawrence scored on the Attacks first shot of the game and had the lone goal for the Bears. Stef Forgione evened the score in the second period for North Bay.
- Carter George made 19 of 20 saves, Corbin Votary made 12 saves on 12 shots for the Attack, while Dom DiVincentiis made 54 saves on 55 shots for North Bay.
- Shootout: Ty Nelson scored the lone goal during the 3 player shootout on Cobrin Votary to secure the win for North Bay. Other shooters were Dalyn Wakely for North Bay and Cedrick Guindon, Colby Barlow and Sam Sedley for the Attack.
The Attack will have a small break in the pre-season schedule this week, before taking on the Barrie Colts at a sold out P & H Centre in Hanover on Wednesday, September 20 at 7pm, before returning to the Bayshore for their final pre-season game against the same Battalion on Saturday, September 23 at 2pm.
