Attack Look to Extend 9-Game Point Streak with Weekend Home-stand
As the 2021-22 regular season begins to wind-down, the Owen Sound Attack continue to heat up as they push for playoff positioning.
Though their six game win streak was snapped, the Attack still ride a nine game mont streak, which has built them a comfortable 10 point lead over the ninth place Sarnia Sting. With the recent success Owen Sound has shifted focus from making the playoffs, to trying and climb the standings for a better position, as the Bears are just three points back of the fifth place Guelph Storm.
The week kicks off Wednesday night with a visit from the Windsor Spitfires, in a game where the Attack will be looking for a bit of revenge, as it was the Spitfires who snapped the Bears winning streak, last Thursday in Windsor. The game marks the fourth meeting of the team’s this season, but only the second at the Bayshore, with the Attack taking the first game on home ice back in October. It will also be the first game back at the Bayshore for former Bear Andrew Perrott, since being traded to Windsor at the trade deadline back in January. The game is also the Rogers TV game night, with fans encouraged to bring supplies for Safe N’ Sound, while also being able to enter game night draws for a chance to win great prizes.
A weekend double-header will then wrap the week’s schedule, as the Attack welcome the Erie Otters. It was a tough trip when the Attack travelled to Erie, playing with just 15 skaters with injuries and COVID-19 boarder crossing protocols causing issues. Owen Sound was competitive in the two games in Erie, but came up short both games, so the Saturday and Sunday games will present a great opportunity for the Attack to get revenge while also building a bigger gap between the teams. Saturday nights game is our Bruce Power Indigenous game night, as we pay honour to our local indigenous communities. Sunday will be the final IPC Sunday game of the year, with the first 200 kids into the game receiving a coupon for a free popcorn, a chance to win one of two team autographed jersey, and an opportunity for one lucky (child) fan to win a virtual meet and greet with their favourite players.
Fans looking for tickets to any of the three games can purchase either online or at the MacVicar and McComb Sutton Realty Box Office. The Attack also want to remind fans that masks are still required for these three games, and will not be allowed entrance into the Bayshore if a mask is not worn.
