Attack Ink Nansi & Ethier to Scholarship & Development Agreements
The Owen Sound Attack are excited to announce that they have signed forward Harry Nansi and defensemen Sam Ethier to OHL Scholarship and Development agreements ahead of the 2023-24 season. Nansi was the Attacks 74th overall (4th round) pick in the 2023 OHL Priority Selection, while Ethier was taken by the Attack 10th overall (1st round) in the 2023 OHL Under-18 draft.
Hailing from Nepean, Ontario, Harry Nansi, a 6-foot-1-inch, 165-pound left winger from the Nepean Raiders under-18 AAA program. In 2022-23, he had 28 goals and 31 assists in 40 games. Heading into camp the Attack brass had pegged as a raw tool forward with lots of potential, very athletic with high end skill and compete level, that they expect him develop over the his time in Owen Sound.
“I’m looking forward to playing with such an awesome group of guys” said Nansi when asked about signing with the Attack. “I know I’ll be able to learn a lot of things from everybody”.
“He fits the Owen Sound Attack mold of a player” said Attack General Manager, Dale DeGray when asked about signing Nansi. “He’s big, fast and skilled. He had a great rookie camp and showed just as well at main camp which earned him a spot in our organization. We welcome Harry and his family to Owen Sound and into the Attack organization.”
Originally from Ottawa, Ontario, Sam Ethier is a 6-foot 181-pound left shot defensemen from the Rockland Nationals Under-18 program. Ethier had a very productive first season with the U18 program, as he displayed his offensive abilities, netting 44 points (21G, 23A) in 40 games with the Nationals. he also saw time with the Rockland Nationals Jr. A team of the Central Canadian Hockey League playing in 6 games and contributed a goal and assist.
“It feels great to have signed with such an amazing and well rounded organization” said Ethier when asked about signing with the Attack. “I am looking forward to seeing what the OHL is all about and there is no better team the do that with than the Attack. I’m beyond stoked.”
“Sam came into camp and impressed from the get go” said DeGray when asked about the signing of Ethier. “He plays a solid two way game and has a physicality to his game that makes him a great fit for our d-core. We are looking forward to seeing how he performs in game situations in the preseason. We welcome Sam and his family to Owen Sound and into the Attack organization.”
