Attack Ink 2020 3rd Round Pick Madden Steen
The Owen Sound Attack are excited to announce the signing of defensemen Madden Steen, the team’s third round pick in the 2020 OHL Priority Selection, to a standard player agreement.
“It’s been a tough year for a lot of people” said Steen. “For myself this is one of the goals I’ve been working towards. It’s such an honour and I can’t wait to finally get started.”
“I can’t wait to meet all the Attack fans and play in front of them in the Bayshore next season” continued Steen.
At 6-foot-1, 185-pounds, Steen will be a great addition to the Attack’s backend. In his last season of play, 2019-20, he played 30 games with the Guelph Jr. Gryphons U16 AAA, he recorded 11 goals and 16 assists. He also finished off his season playing for the Georgetown Raiders of the OJHL where he played in two regular season games and four playoff games.
“We are excited to have Madden Steen part of our group moving forward” said Attack General Manager, Dale DeGray. “This was something that would have been done last year had we played. I would like to welcome Madden and his family to the Attack organization. I look forward to seeing him over the summer and in September.”
Last summer, Steen received Hockey Canada recognition being invited to the under-17 development camp in preparation for the World Under-17 Hockey Challenge, that were later cancelled due to the pandemic.
Steen has spent this extended off-season working hard on and off the ice and connecting with his now teammates. He and fellow 2020 OHL Priority Selections Cedrick Guindon and Gavin Bryant have spent a lot of time online creating a strong bond that could set the young players up for an exciting couple of years in the bear’s den.
