Attack Faceoff with Kitchener Rangers Wednesday Night
The Owen Sound Attack were back at it for a mid-week game home game against the Kitchener Rangers. Sporting their tribute Greys jerseys, the Attack would find themselves in a loss against the Rangers 5-1. In net for OS was rookie Carter George making 39 saves of 44 shots from Rangers. Making a single goal for the Attack and his 30th goal of the season was Ethan Burroughs.
Making a slow start to the game, the Attack would aim to position themselves in such a way to gain control of the puck . Setting up well with no follow through would be the downfall of the Attack in the first period. Halfway through the first period and still not much movement had been made, until the Rangers would score earning 2 goals. Being a force of his own holding the score at 2-0 Rangers, George would make 17 saves alone in the the first period.
With the second period in play, the Attack were quick to jump back into action finding new drive. Clearing the puck from the Owen Sound net, Declan Waddick would pull play away from the bear’s net and down the ice. Passing across the front of the Rangers’ net, Waddick would put the puck right at the doorstep of Burrgouhs who would launch it into the back of Kitchener’s net. The Rangers would answer to the Attack’s goal with 2 more goals of their own late in the period bringing the score to 4-1.
The third period opened with the Rangers shutting down the Attack’s attempts to close the deficit. The Attack would struggle to pull together leaving the Rangers to find themselves another goal halfway through the period. With little time left, the Attack would find no other goals leaving the final score 5-1 Rangers.
The Attack will now be taking to the road as they head for a weekend in Erie. They will be facing off against the Erie Otters Saturday March 9th at 7PM and Sunday March 10th at 4PM. Fans will be able to watch the games via OHL Live on CHL TV or stay up to date via the Attack social media.
